Real focus groups cost $15,000–$40,000 and take weeks to schedule. AI personas can't replace humans when the stakes are real, but they're brutally good at catching the friction you've stopped noticing on your own site. We built CrowdCheck for the round trips between your big research milestones — the iteration loop, not the launch decision.
Each persona is a structured prompt — goals, anxieties, prior context, behavioral tendencies — paired with a real headless browser. They click, scroll, complain, change their minds, and bail when something breaks their trust. We capture every interaction, every quote, every almost-conversion.
We use frontier-class language models for the persona reasoning and standard browser automation for the interaction. Cost caps run on every job — if a persona starts looping or burning tokens, we stop it before your $20 turns into $200. We don't fine-tune on your site's content; nothing about your URL leaves the run.
AI personas can't read your customer's body language. They can't tell you whether your imagery feels right for someone's grandmother in Tulsa. They miss subtle accessibility nuance and culture-specific cues. For those, you still need real humans.
What they're great at: catching dead-end CTAs, broken value props, navigation nobody finds, copy that confuses, trust signals that backfire. The unglamorous friction. The stuff you've gone blind to.
The site you're reading was redesigned from a focus group it ran on itself. We sent ten personas to crowdcheck.site and the report came back devastating: 0 of 10 conversions, an empty FAQ, missing sample reports, no clear answers to the questions buyers were actually asking. Informativeness rating: 1.3 out of 5.
So we did the obvious thing: read the report and fixed the site. The "How it works" strip on the home page exists because three personas asked. The FAQ exists because ten personas clicked it and found nothing. The sample reports exist because nobody could tell what they were buying. This page exists because one persona — a graduate student writing a thesis on AI research methods — asked who built the tool and there was no answer anywhere on the site.
The most credible artifact this product can produce is a report on itself. Here's a real sample.
